BROTHER NEBBY CHANDA MUTALE'S FINAL VOWS

29th January 2006 was a memorable day for Br Nebby Chanda Mutale, Omi and for the Oblate family in Zambia. It was on this 4th Sunday in the ordinary time that Nebby Chanda Mutale made his perpetual oblation at Mary Immaculate Parish in Lusaka.

Family members and friends attended Mass and the spirit of achievement filled the congregation. The Superior, Fr Joseph Phiri presided at the profession and Mass. After the homily, Nebby was called forward. He was examined and through his answers he showed his willingness to dedicate his entire life to the service of God and the poor as an Oblate of Mary Immaculate.

Speaking in an interview, Fr Phiri said that the perpetual oblation that Br Nebby made was a sign of hope for the future and that it should inspire a lot of young people to join religious life. And speaking earlier, Br Nebby said that he was thankful to God for the calling. And he was especially thankful to his family for the support and encouragement he got through his journey. He asked for continued prayers. Congratulations Nebby.
